It all started with the new greenish yellow flowery carpets my mom brought in the living room. We've been living in the house for almost 7 years, still it is bare because we spent a fortune to the house. As years come by, my parents (especially my mom) will replace the furniture bit by bit. It is an ongoing process, the next big thing on their list is to decorate the huge bare wall to match the theme of the furniture.
I dislike to go out much because I kinda a homey person (& my obsession with internet doesn't help either =P) I spent a lot of my time in my room, sketching some designs or surfing the net. Then I'll be looking at my bare (& messy) room & thought "Wow, what a messy junkyard". Dust, hair (I shed like a cat), books, anime figurines, paper, clothes are all over the room. I look at myself afterwards, what I feel inside is the same thing as I feel about my room. "My life is also a mess". I am 28, single, working girl, no boyfriend, with a room that has a lot of stuff. A few days ago I've made a decision for a mission, to change my room a little at a time & at the same time, changed myself.
The goal? To redecorate the room in a span of a year or less on a tight budget. Nothing too big, just one baby step at a time with my own money I could spend. No big furniture (bed or wardrobe or bookcase just shelves & one computer table), or fancy stuff (maybe a few inexpensive trinkets to liven it up more), just to organize & make the room more cozy & suits my personality, taste & profession. Since I am working on weekdays & alternate Saturdays + playing Magic cards (new hobby) on Saturday evening (at the same time I'll go window shopping as well <3), Sunday is the best day to go out hunting for the stuffs/ working in my room unless I have a deadline/events to look forward to.
My taste is like heaven & earth compared to my mom, she likes semi antique look, with the flowers & earthy tones but in this project (my room) I'll make it to look like the modern look (with sleek stylish shelves & clean look).
And I decided to blog about the process. & it wasn't for hype or anything, keeping this blog is to motivate me & remind me how far am I from my goal. & to get my lazy ass back to work on it. + it would be fun recording the experience right?
Ta-ta~ <3
P/S: The only problem I will be facing afterwords however, is to keep clean it :D
